Alaina Burns named student marshal for spring 2024 commencement
Alaina Burns will serve as the Penn State Health Policy and Administration student marshal for spring 2024 commencement. While at Penn State, she served as donor and alumni relations chair for Apollo Benefitting THON and treasurer of the College of Health and Human Development Ambassadors. Congrats, Alaina!
Penn State MHA provides unique networking opportunities for students
The Penn State Master of Health Administration program recently took a trip to Washington, D.C., giving students an opportunity to meet and engage with individuals working in government relations, advocacy and research in and around the Capitol. The trip exposed students to the diversity of roles they could pursue upon completion of the program and allowed them to see what healthcare work looks like outside of the traditional institutional settings.
26th Annual Stanley P. Mayers Endowed Lecture
Alison Beam delivered the 26th Annual Stanley P. Mayers Endowed Lecture, “Balancing Act: The Crucial Interplay of Public and Private Sectors in Health Care,” on April 2 in the Hintz Family Alumni Center at Penn State University Park. Her talk explored the intricate web of health care in the United States and discussed the critical relationship between the public and private sectors.

Lisa Davis, director of the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health and outreach associate professor of health policy and administration at Penn State, was presented with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Office of Health Equity 2024 Health Equity Champion Award. The Health Equity Champion Award is presented biennially to individuals based on their years dedicated to health equity efforts, professional roles, and a demonstrated passion and success in promoting health equity.
